Nybo Receives Daily Herald Endorsement for State Senate

Voters in Illinois Senate District 24 have two strong choices to consider on Nov. 4: Republican Chris Nybo and Democrat Suzanne Glowiak. Both are knowledgeable candidates about the issues and present themselves as legislators who would work in a more bipartisan manner than many in Springfield today.

Glowiak, as a Western Springs village trustee, brings a strong knowledge base of issues facing local government and local taxpayers. She favors, unlike Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn, rolling back the income tax to previous levels.

Nybo, however, doesn’t have to talk about bucking his party or working across the aisle. As a former state representative, he has a record of doing that, most notably for workers’ compensation reform. He, too, supports the expiration for the income tax increase and points to his vote against that increase in 2011.

Nybo, an attorney from Elmhurst, was appointed in August to fill the remaining term of former Sen. Kirk Dillard who has moved on to chair the Regional Transportation Authority board. He models himself after Dillard, saying Dillard’s legislative legacy is “to be admired and emulated.” That’s a good guidepost for Nybo. He is endorsed. Original Article Here.
